Singaporean minister looks to sci-tech,bong da trực tiep workforce training cooperation with Việt Nam

SINGAPORE – Singaporean Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean expressed his hope for Việt Nam-Singapore cooperation in science, technology and human resources training at his meeting with visiting Vietnamese Party General Secretary Tô Lâm on Wednesday.

At the meeting, the Parader praised Singapore’s visionary leadership and impressive achievements in science, technology, digital transformation, and smart nation development, which have turned the country into a leading regional and global hub for science-technology and education-training.

He recommended that Singapore share its expertise with Việt Nam in smart urban management, advanced technology, and startup support, while connecting Vietnamese enterprises with markets in the region and the world.

For his part, Teo welcomed the Vietnamese Party chief’s official visit in his new role, saying the trip offers an opportunity to further deepen bilateral ties. He said the fresh upgrade of Việt Nam-Singapore relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership marked a historic milestone in the two nations' relationship.

The minister also took the occasion to praise Việt Nam’s socio-economic achievements during its reform process and sci-tech breakthroughs.

Both sides agreed on orientations for future cooperation, including strengthening collaboration in such key areas as science-technology, and innovation.

They said it is necessary to train and develop their human resources through exchanges of students, researchers, and experts between Vietnamese institutions and the National University of Singapore.

They also encouraged the establishment of research and development (R&D) centres and the investments of Singaporean technology firms in Việt Nam. VNS
