HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc yesterday said he was pleased to see the development of the strategic partnership between Japan and Viet Nam while receiving the special advisor to the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, Tsutomu Takebe, in Ha Noi.
Prime Minister Phúc hailed the continuous efforts made by Takebe towards the two nations’ relationship in various fields, especially trade co-operation and human resources training.
He also spoke highly of the Japan-Viet Nam Cultural Festival, which is ongoing in Viet Nam, adding that the event would further promote the understanding of the two peoples.
Praising the establishment of the Viet Nam-Japan University in Viet Nam and Takebe’s contributions to the initiative, he affirmed that Viet Nam would create favourable conditions for the university to start operating this September.
He said he expected that Japan would support Viet Nam in its national development, especially in terms of infrastructure, agricultural production and climate change adaptation.
Takebe said he was doing his utmost to further develop the strong partnership between the two countries and informed the PM about upcoming visits of some Japanese co-operatives to Viet Nam next month to interview their potential trainees. — VNS
